My Proclamation

I came across a news story a few weeks ago where some wacko group had written a proclamation denouncing the War and our President. For some reason that stuck with me and finally I decided I’d write my own proclamation.

On this Twenty Seventh day of March I do proclaim and set forth the following statements:

Whereas the United States of America is the greatest nation given unto the world by God Almighty,

Whereas the United States was brutally attacked over the course of the past two decades, cumulating with the attack on September 11, 2001,

Whereas the President of the United States, George Walker Bush has pledged unwavering dedication to defeating the enemies that threaten our homeland and Liberty worldwide,

Whereas the Global War on Terrorism, launched in Afghanistan, fought across the world, and centralized against foreign insurgents in the reconstructing and free Iraq,

Whereas the enemies of Liberty both foreign and domestic do intend harm to every peace loving person,

Whereas the native and naturalized sons and daughters of our great land have voluntarily put forth their very lives to protect Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness,

Whereas members of our great nation do consciously and deliberately use events of the War of Terrorism for their own personal and political gain,

Whereas members of our great nation, under the auspices of the Second Amendment, deliberately and forcefully proclaim negativity, heartache, and misery over success, triumph, and honor,

I do proclaim my unwavering support of our President, our Military, and the march of Liberty across the globe,

I do denounce and reject any person, party, or organization that does harm to the aforementioned,

I do hear and respect the words of so many when they proclaim “Freedom is not Free”

God Bless America

24

24. Is there a better show on television? Sure, Rhonda & I have our other TV addictions… But on the whole 24 exceeds other shows by its themes and message. We know that the folks behind the show have conservative leanings. Rush alluded to this when describing his visit to the set last season. Within this show you have a positive portrayal of men and women, the frontline government agents in the War on Terrorism, doing what must be done to combat terrorism.

There is no under the breath stabs at the current Administration like you see in shows like ER. Last Thursday’s episode of the aging medical drama had the return of Dr. Carter in his rich boy, save the world from the evils of dictators and American Foreign Policy crusade in Africa. Within a two minute scene Carter and his fellow doctor referred to the neglect of Blacks in a number of places including New Orleans and the absence of America in the war torn heart of Africa because of oil.

It is refreshing to watch a show that portrays the true evil of terrorism and the heroic and sometimes brutal tactics that must be used to defeat the evil. 24 makes no apologies for the approach. Sure, they show the pain that the actions can inflict on those who must execute them… but it demonstrates the necessity of the actions.

In a recent episode the President asks his chief advisor to kneel and pray with him for intervention in life threatening situation. This scene demonstrated the reliance the man in the Oval Office can have on the Great Almighty. Despite the way the Drive-By Media would like to portray our President’s relationship with God, this scene demonstrates that a President can rely on his faith in crucial times and not let it affect his decision making.

24 provides us on the Right side of current issues a release from the constant onslaught by the LibDems and their Igor, the Drive-By media. It reminds me that we have good people in necessary places doing what must be done to keep our Country safe. All I can say to those who haven’t watched this show, Go rent the first four seasons, sit back, and enjoy.

Random Points

Well, time for some random points…

First Point, Roll your eyes if you’ve heard the constant barrage of news headlines from the newly pegged “Drive-By Media” about the new low in the President’s job approval rating.  Their celebration of this poll is misleading and misguided.  The poll was conducted by CBS.  This should be red flag number one that something is wrong.  Did Dan Rather ask the questions?

The second red flag is the methodology of the poll.  First, it was weighted 2 to 1 Democrat.  I may have been blond as a child, but I think I can figure out that a poll weighted more heavily with respondents that are genetically predisposed to dislike any thing someone with an (R) by their name will result in low poll numbers for said individual.

Third flag, the poll returned to the unreliable roots of presidential polling.  In the past respondents were asked if they thought the President’s handling of his job was excellent, good, fair, or poor.  The pollsters would then tally the results as anything in excellent and good as positive and anything in fair and poor as negative.  This was maintained until someone studied the individuals who typically answered fair.  It was found that these folks did not necessarily think the job performance was bad, just okay.  Polling was changed to gauge the job approval as strongly approve, approve, disapprove, or strongly disapprove.  CBS in all their document forging glory went back to the old style poll to get their 34%.  In fact Rasmutin, the most reliable poll in predicting presidential elections, has the President’ approval at 44%.  This is higher than Bubba Clinton at this time in term number two (if my memory is correct).

Thanks to Rush for the “Drive-By Media” reference and Dick Morris for the insight on the poll.

Second Point, Can you really take seriously the concerns over national security raised by a political party who uses ever opportunity to undercut the Commander-in-Chief?  When a recording of a meeting in which the Homeland Security Secretary and the President are told pre-Katrina how bad things could get in New Orleans is used as fodder for president damage, you must know things are bad.  Raise your hands if you didn’t hear how bad things could be for New Orleans before hand… Here’s a hint LibDems… It is first the city, parish, and state responsibility.. then the feds..

Oh, did you notice how important homeland security and profiling is when control of some of the terminals at some ports will be in the hands of a Middle Eastern company?  LibDems slam the Presidents focus on national security and the profiling ways of the Patriotic Act, but now they have an opportunity to be on the Right in the national security debate.  So its jump on the Bash Bush bandwagon and call for some hearings….

Third point, Is it just me or do you wish that everyone was committed whole-heartedly to our national security and the love of country?
