In 1860, the United States of America split at the seams into two countries. This divide occurred for a variety of reasons, chiefly among them were states rights and slavery. The union persevered and the United States of America exists today. Americans today can’t imagine a civil war even existing. If attacked, no country would be fiercer, more joined in its defense. However, there looms a problem that festers in our land, one that could ultimately define our existence.
In 1933 (the start date of Roosevelt’s New Dealt), the United States of America began to split at its foundation. This split now rages today as the American Civil War II. This second American Civil War, a cold war, has raged for generations. We are engaged in this war due to the enormous moral, cultural, and political differences between the two sides. It is a cold war because major physical conflicts have not erupted across the country. It is a cold war because both sides are using politics and words as weapons, not guns and missiles. It is a cold war because it has non-traditional combat deaths and injuries not readily assigned to battle and combat. Thanks to the 2004 presidential election we know the colors that will be referred to when talking of this conflict. The blue & gray of the first American Civil War have been replaced with red & blue.
First let’s define the positions. The major difference is the perception of our great nation. The red side believes that the United States of America is the greatest nation that has ever existed. They believe that the U.S. is the light of freedom and hope in this world and that the world benefits from America’s existence. The blue side believes that the U.S. is the plight of evil in the modern world. They believe that America is the cause of suffering, disease, death, and oppression. They believe that U.S. is a force of pure imperialism.
The red side believes in the founding principles of this country. It believes that America was founded by the grace of God and that through his blessings our founders forged a unique form of government with unique founding documents. The red side believes that our founding principles must be adhered to as formed. The blue side believes that the U.S. was formed out of happenstance. Our founders were inheritately flawed and our founding documents and principles must be altered with time. Summary: The Red side lives by the founding principles and traditions, The Blue side wants to bend and change these ideals and laws to fit their particular lives and conditions.
The red side values morals and the principles of religion and tradition. They believe in living their lives according to biblical (or religious) principles. The blue side believes that diversity should be celebrated. If your particular perception and attitude is contrary to long-standing values then you should be understood and excused. The blues further believe destruction and condemnation of those who do not approve of their choices must immediate if discovered.
The red side defines marriage as a holy institution, created by God, to join a man and a woman for the purposes of parenting and needed supports. The blue side devalues marriage by assigning it to the joining of single sexes. Summary: Marriage has a set definition; the red side believes in adhering to it, the blue side believes in changing it.
The red side values life, the blue side does not. The red side believes that life begins at conception and the abortion is murder. The blue side views life as a choice until the baby is born. It is in this difference that our Civil War II: Cold War has built is largest body total. Millions of innocent Americans have been slaughtered through political fighting over life vs. choice.
This war is being fought with words, actions, and strategy from both sides. There is a one-upmanship attitude that scores victories in a number of minor battles. The red side wins the White House; the Blue side obstructs the plans of the President. The red side tirelessly fights threats to this country, the blue side publishes articles in its rag newsletters that enflames the enemy. The red side tries to insure our future with social security reform; the blue side scares the ignorant portion of our nation into believing reform will doom their retirement. The red side votes to preserve marriage, the blue side strikes it down with their main weapon, the judiciary.
Who will win this war? Those of who love and trust God know how the world’s story ends. The future of America is uncertain. America is strong when it holds to its traditions. It is weak when it bends and compromises. It is strong when it leads the world, weak when it succumbs to the whims of the world. I have always said that Liberalism is the cancer that can destroy this country. America is changing. It is being invaded by illegal immigrants and liberal ideas. Both have cracked America’s foundations. Those of us who love this country must stand up and defend it before it crumbles. If this country ever succumbs the leftist radicalism we will fall. As I said, Americans on both sides would band together to defend this nation if invaded or attacked. The majority on both sides would lay down their “arms” and pick up the guns to defend our land. The question is will we survive the internal war that percolates in our midst? I pray so…
God Bless America
